The Game

It was a dark room. There were cracks on walls alongside the age old beams.
As Ramu opened his eyes, he dint have a clue on where he was.The place was nothing like the ones he had visited before. It was paining,as he had started to feel his bleeding leg.

He saw Bheem, waking up in the other corner of the room, from the state similar to what Ramu  was in a few minutes back. Bheem had his moment of surprise too and stared at the room just as amazed as Ramu was. They both exchanged glances but could not utter a word.

Ram tried to recollect what had happened to him.He was roaming on green grass in the early morning that day.He was this absolute care free animal, enjoying the nature. He liked the leaves on trees that morning, reminiscent of the fact that it had rained heavily the last night.
As he was minding his own business at the grassland, he was pushed from back and was given
an injunction. Injunction had pained him and had him dozed off before the needle was taken aback. The next thing he could see was this very room where he was in now.

Wondering if the similar thing had happened to Bheem,he was about to speak to him.
That moment suddenly the doors flung open. Two men in their mid 30's barged in
and before they could resist Ram and Bheem were taken out to the open field.

In midst of cheers they killed Ram and Bheem with one shot onto their necks and it was all over.
That night the whole crowd enjoyed the mutton made out of Ram and Bheem. For them there was no time to reflect what could have been through these abducted lambs.

Agriculture and What we can do?

Recently one of my friend traveled to Bangladesh. While he explained about the Socio-economic problems of Bangladesh,We were able to connect to some of issues we also suffer in our country.
Biggest of the challenge was how do you channelize the under educated, poor working population to constructive purposes. Avoiding them from venturing into petty jobs that don't do any good for their children's health & education and there by bringing down the standard of living for the entire country.

If you have a look at Streets of Bangladesh, you invariably see thousands of Tangas (cycle rickshaw)  in the streets making the mess of traffic and its rules. Why Tanga ? because its cheap with not much of investment for a under educated poor man! What else? These people will sometime be forced to jobs like block ticket selling, gambling ( Matka), illegal tradings etc.

Solution ?

Government of India believes that Agriculture has huge potential. It invests lot of money and time in educating farmers about the best practices.
However, why not government undertake an initiative where itself engages in agriculture directly, just like a Software MNC company ?
If you are thinking its funny, think about a colony of workers who go to work every morning in govt buses into government fields, and come back from the same busses after finishing the day's work. Each of the colony will have free schools and hospitals catering to the families of these workers.
Each of the worker gets salary directly into his bank account. Why not we have our brains from Agricultural universities into the field and ask them to show the results for a change.
Think about how powerful be our distribution channels once we have these colonies working.

Result:
We would have engaged our under educated, and poor individuals to get into a constructive mode of working contributing directly to the country's production. At the same time we would have taken care of the next generation by providing the free education and good health care.

Would love to hear your inputs..
